Sherie Wood for Amarillo City Council Place 1 is a new platform that aims to revolutionize the way people learn and share knowledge. My mission is to create a community of lifelong learners who are passionate about exploring new ideas and expanding their horizons.

My Vision
I envision an Amarillo that is safe, thriving and inclusive--a City where every neighborhood, especially historically underserved areas, like North Heights, has a voice at the table. My goal is to ensure all residents from families to seniors, to the Homeless have access to opportunity support and dignity! Through strong fiscal Oversight, especially with entities like the Amarillo Economic Development Corporation (AEDC), I will fight for transparency and accountability. I am committed to improving infrastructure, supporting school choice and Sanctuary city for the Unborn, and driving economic growth for everyone--not just a select few! I support property tax relief and public safety for all residents. Together we can create a future where Amarillo stands as a model of smart growth, compassionate leadership and community driven progress!

I was born and raised in Amarillo. Graduated from Amarillo High School. I got my Medical Assistant Certificate from Academy of Professional Careers. I'm a mother of two girls. I worked in customer service most of my life. I was a manager for 10 years. I'm a Potter County Precinct Chair 426. I'm a member of Amarillo Republican Women, United Way and NAACP! I have what it takes to be a Council Member!
